Iván Ramiro Córdoba Sepúlveda (born August 11, 1976 in Medellín) is a Colombian international football player. He made his name playing for San Lorenzo in Argentina but signed for Italian side Internazionale in the winter transfer window, January 2000, costing the club 16 million Euros, rejecting another offer from Real Madrid in doing so. Naturally a central defender and world rated man-marker, he is athletic and relies mostly on his world class pace and reliable timing. Despite being only 172 cm tall, he is a good header of the ball, good jumper and often scores goals with his head. Cordoba is also a versatile defender. He sometimes plays as right back and has even filled the left back position. He captained the Colombia national football team to win the competition, scoring the only goal in the final.
